I live in New Brunswick Canada and I have been on a Misson since September to find a Bishon to bring home to love and no luck. Do you know if there is anyone in my area that breeds this time of year.
Also I have an Asthmatic Son and I have been told by many people that the Bishon will not bother his Astham Is there anyone out there that can back this up.
Thanks
Twyla

Hi:
My name is Ellen Seigel and I am a certified Activity Professional. My speciality is working with Alzheimer's patient's but I can also work with all people that have cognitive impairments.
I am pretty well versed in pet therapy but I would like to learn more and get my dogs involved in it. I have a female minature gray poodle. I will be getting a Bichon Frise pretty soon. I am presently looking for a breeder in the New Jersey area.
Please send me any info that you can. I would also appreciate it if you could recommend a breeder for me.
Thanks so much.

This is NOT the place to advertise puppies!!! This person did not have my permission to post her ad on my website.
Make sure if you are purchasing a Bichon puppy that the proper genetic testing has been done for both parents. Please see my FAQ at http://www.netcom.com/~jasheehy/faq.html or email me if you have any questions.
Thank you,

Dear Janice:
Thank you for adding the notice about no puppies for sale. I was really alarmed to see that. People should always be sure to check for health clearances before even considering a puppy. These include OFA of both parents, patella examinations, and annual eye CERF of both parents. I know alot of people would love to breed their babies and have babies of their own, but thay have not thought of the resposibility that is owed each and every puppy.
I'll get off my box now.

Hi, Someone out there help me. We purchased a Bichon pup 2 weeks ago & we love her!! I seem to be having a problem with housebreaking. I did read in the FAQ this is sometimes tricky. We have her in a kennel at night but can't leave her in it all the time. I give her treats (which she loves) if she does her job but about the time I think I have it licked, she goes.
Appriciate any tips!

Cookie, you are doing the right things but it takes time and maturity. I do not expect my dogs to be truly trained until they are about 6 months old. Until then I am trained to watch for the signs that they want to go potty. You are doing fine and it sounds like your puppy is too. Just remember that they are still little and not too perfect....YET. Good luck I have found that it helps to put newspaper in front of the door used to go in and out. Your puppy will associate both the door and papers to potty. Accidents won't be a crime this way either.

Hey everybody. Was really surprised to find such a lot of stuff on the net about Bichons. I was just wondering if anybody can tell me how to keep my Bichon clean. I come from a relatively hot and humid country and so I bath my Bichon once a week. BUT she's still as dirty as ever. Her mouth and paws are all brown. I wipe her mouth everyday after she has her meal but that doesn't seem to help either. Would really appreciate it if somebody could tell me what to do. Thanx!:)

Hello, fellow Bichon lovers! After my husband died, my son and I moved to Memphis to rebuild our lives. As soon as we saw this sweet, fluffy white ball of sweetness, a certain void was filled in our hearts. When I come home at the end of the day, Buffy greets me with the most wonderful love. Dinner time finds Buffy jumping up and down at the dinner table. I hate to put her in her kennel, but it's the only way to get any peace. Any tips?

Just wanted to let everyone know that my Bichon, Sake, is the first dog I've ever owned. I decided on a Bichon only because I was told it was a good dog that won't affect my allergies. Well that is beyond true. Sake is my best friend and the sweetest breed!! I would recommend the Bichon to anyone.

We adopted our bichon, Molly, two years ago from a Bichon Rescue Society in Wisconsin. Molly is the love of our life. Now six-years-old she is ever as playful and smiling as the day we brought her home. She nips at children, however, so we cage her when children visit. Is this typical of bichons? Perhaps it was a bad experience with her previous owners. This website is fabulous. I will be a frequent visitor!

We bought Syd about 6 years ago, complete with AKC Registration. He is 30 pounds, and about 29" long-- not fat; just oversized. Great dog, great personality, perfect for our son's asthma. The problem we've been having these past few years is crystals in the bladder which grow into kidney stone. Three surgeries so far. Does anyone have a similar problem or ideas that will aid in the reduction or elimination of the crystals. He's on a Rx food diet now for three years; but problem is recurring. Vet tells us its rare in Bichons.
of crystals?

I have had my Bichon, Tippi for 6 years now. She has been a registered Therapy Dog with the Love on a Leash Program for 5 years. She brings lots of love and laughter not only to our family but to seniors, patients in ICU and ER and kids in Special Ed. classes as well. What a great dog, what a great breed!

Hi, we are proud new owners of a Bichon puppy 'ELMO'. I think it's the best decision we have ever made. We went with this breed because of my severe allergies and unending yearning for a puppy. Well, he is the greatest think that ever happened to us. He has lots of personality and spunk. EXCEPT he is a monster when comes to housebreaking. Seems he has it, and then like clockwork he'll have an accident. We just joined Obedience and the Instructor says he can be trained in 48 hours if we do it correctly. obviuosly she had never owned a Bichon. We think you site is great and will visit often.
